Hi, my name is Leanne. I am a Cairns based creative, professional photographer and Cyanotype artist. I am also a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Life’s lessons have taught me to value love, family and friends. For me, photographs are a way of treasuring and remembering people and moments that make up the fabric of our lives.

I love creating beautiful work that becomes a part of another person’s life story or organisation’s vision. In essence, photographs that become a part of the legacy we leave behind. My work captures people connecting. Laughing, loving, celebrating, sharing, crying, working, living with passion, executing a vision and turning dreams into reality … all the while finding beauty through the lens.

Professionally, photography is my ‘meraki’ and, using the camera as a tool, I choose to see and create beauty in response to my connections with people and the world around me.  This deeply personal fascination with aesthetics drives my interest in unique expressions of beauty as found in love, people, nature, culture, fashion and art.

Following tertiary studies in both photography and science, and after an often nomadic lifestyle, I found joy and creative inspiration in the beauty of tropical living in Far North Queensland.

I care deeply about Social Justice, in particular gender equity, and Closing the Gap. I feel honoured to work with a number of Australian organisations that do great work by empowering women and improving the lives of Australians through education. Clients include CSIRO, Literacy for Life Foundation, Synapse - Australia’s Brain Injury Foundation and Education Queensland and Her.Women’s Health.

Blue Muse art wear is a passion project that connects me to nature. It’s a space where art meets science which suits me well. Utilising an 18th century cameraless photography process and foliage from glorious tropical gardens I create stunning designs on fabric and paper. Blue Muse is available through stockists here in Cairns or custom fabric designs can be made to order.

I am always excited when projects allow me to meet new people, travel and make new friends. I am privileged to do so.
